10:45: Glacier National Park.
Taking a recon trip to find some trails in GNP & Jewel Basin. This area is so beautiful! Had to take a detour up the Going to the Sun Road as far as it was open (Lake McDonald). It’s a bit of a cliche (much like the Bean in Chicago…everyone has to get a picture of it), but I couldn’t help myself and had to take several pictures of the mountains reflecting on the lake.
17:15: Whitefish, MT.
Drove to Jewel Basin. Made it about half way down the access road to the trailhead and realized I would never be able to make a morning hike out of it – would spend all my time driving. And I wanted to see the Whitefish Mountain Pond Skim.
It was amusing and different. Not because of it, but I felt like a tourist for the first time today. Probably because this trip means I’m missing out on some important things.
